As The Quilters Garden begins its 18th year, we remember all the friends made, memories shared and beautiful projects. We’ve learned a lot, and totally enjoyed the very colorful experience. Our favorite part of the day is opening the new fabric deliveries and our customer’s show and tell. Visit your Local Quilt Shop Day
Saturday, January 28
Help us celebrate “Visit your Local Quilt Shop Day”. Bring your projects to our Show ’n Tell. We’re pulling out some to reminisce, and want you to share your work too. It’s always fun to see how others chose color and pattern, and to find inspiration for a future project. We’ll begin Show ‘n Tell at 1 pm, so come on in and bring something to share – or just watch. Everyone is welcome. Shopping specials and giveaways will follow.

Mark your calendar for Saturday, January 21st for our Customer Appreciation Auction! You won’t want to miss this fun event!
The Quilters Garden has been giving away “Auction Bucks” for every dollar you spend in the store over the past month. On Saturday, January 21st, 6 pm, you will have the opportunity to redeem those Auction Bucks on the purchase of live auction, silent auction and selected merchandise tables in the store including past sample items. Pre-registration is required for this event with a $10 fee. Keep adding up those bucks throughout January!!!! Give us a call at 810-629-0331 with any questions.
Embellishing for Beginners
Instructor: Sherry Brown $40

If you have always wanted to learn some fun creative embellishing stitches for your wool applique projects this is the class for you. Sherry will teach several stitches during this four session class which meets the first Saturday of the month starting January 7. Beginners are welcome and students have the option to do a smaller project. Pattern and book are required. Book and pattern are required.
Zippers with Sandy

Have you always been afraid of Zippers or would you like to learn a new amazing way to put zippers in? Sandy has an easy way that will always come out perfect! Join her in making this 5” X 8” wristlet with a lining and learn a new trick.

Thursday, January 26 & February 2, 9:30 am—1:00 pm
Join us for this popular new project and add a touch of whimsy for your home. The pattern is required. The Quilters Garden has kits available for the inside which include the precut/beveled foam already attached to the pre-drilled wood base with the t-nuts inserted, upholstery batting and the cording.
Beginner Hand Embroidery
Instructor: Jane Reed & Sherry Brown $20
Tuesday, January 17 & 24, 10 am—noon
The girls have an adorable project to get you started in hand embroidery. In the first session you will trace your design and learn how to color and shade your project using crayons. In the second session you will learn the basic embroidery stitch to finish off your project.

Saturday, January 21, 10 am—3:00 pm
You’ve been asking us to add this fun project to our class calendar. Make one in class and have plenty of time to make more for Christmas gifts. Choose any fabric you like and spray with waterproofing when your done! Pattern is required. Bring a sack lunch with you to class or run out for a carry out!
Fusible Machine Applique
Instructor: Sue Koehler $10/mo.
4th Saturday of the month, 10 am—noon
Join Sue any month for fusible machine applique. Instruction will be given for any level. You may also bring in your row by row kits or wool projects for assistance.
Instructor: Cheryl Laster $30
Wednesday, February 1, 8 & 15, 10 am—noon
Create playful 3D blocks that you could almost grab. Use solids, blender or small scale prints in light, medium and dark shades from the same color family to make each lively block. Three fat quarters will make nine blocks. The Quilters Garden has kits available or put in a request with Carolyn for a custom kit. The pattern has multiple sizes to choose from. Pattern is required.

Saturday, February 18, 10 am—4 pm
Dagmar has made the perfect square Tuffet pattern to showcase your favorite fabric, embroidery squares or team spirit! She will also show you how easy it is to make additional covers so you can change it out seasonally if you want. The Quilters Garden has kits available for the inside which include the precut/ foam already attached to the pre-drilled wood base with the t-nuts inserted, upholstery batting and the cording. Free pattern is supplied with class.
Quilt Making for Beginners
Instructor: Carolyn Nance $50
Wednesday, March 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29,
6 pm—8 pm
Quilt making from start to finish! Students are instructed in picking out fabric and tools, using a rotary cutter, piecing accurately using a 1/4” seam, sandwiching their finished quilt top, quilting and binding their quilt during this five session class. Everyone will leave class with their own finished quilt. Book is required.
Celtic Stars 2-Day Workshop
Guest Instructor/Designer: Kathleen Andrews $50
Saturday, May 6, 10 am—3 pm &
Saturday, May 20, 10 am—1 pm
Join Designer Kathleen Andrews during this two day workshop introducing her newest design. Celtic Stars is an intermediate pattern but is easily made using chain and strip piecing, simple template piecing and Celtic made easy with the use of double sided tape instead of pins for perfect circles. Pattern is required.
